The $2.9M proposal could have an annual economic impact of $2.5M and is planned to be completed in 2011.

“A key factor for the project is that it reflects variety, vitality and vibrancy that both local residents and visitors to Peachland can all enjoy and be part of. The vision that the team and I are working from is that the project must offer a sound development strategy, have a quality design that will optimize this stunning waterfront location while retaining Peachland’s quaint intimacy and very important for us all is it develops a local signature landmark” said Wilshaw.

“This is the very first strategic response to the findings of the Recreational Marine Facilities Study conducted in 2008 by the Regional District of Central Okanagan. The need for community and destination venues on the Lake will be a model that others will emulate. It sets a new high standard with valued benefits.” Bob Sugden – Researcher and writer of “Ripple Effect”.

When asked to comment about the Symphony and Song Program planned Caroline Miller, General Manager of the Okanagan Symphony commented “Great music, long, warm summer afternoons and evenings, and professional-level classical and pops concerts: what could be better for residents and visitors?”

We will be thrilled,” says Music Director and Conductor Rosemary Thomson, “to be part of this exciting initiative to bring live performances, and opportunities for boating enthusiasts and the community at the Peachland waterfront. We’d love to assist the municipal and planning groups in developing the best sound and stage layout possible. We love being part of the larger Okanagan family.”

Managing Director Wilshaw added “This is another local project for the local community and for the past year has been planned by a team of wonderful locals who believe in the long term growth of this superb community that we are all part of. We all firmly believe that the economic impact will be high and the project will be an asset to the downtown of Peachland.”

The project captures the recommendations of the Community Official Plan and the visioning proposals from concepts initiated in the last 10 years. Trepanier Manor will build the pier as it evolves from community interaction in concert with approvals from the district and provincial-federal land/ water management regulations. Citizens, boaters and business will also have an opportunity to work with an advisory team to fine tune the proposal to best serve historic Peachland.
