West Coast Escapes selects Peachland and Trepanier Manor for New Television Series

Peachland, Okanagan Valley, B.C. – Under the lights and with the cry of ‘action’ the television crew from the series ‘West Coast Escapes’ put the team of Trepanier Manor and other Peachland business owners through their paces this weekend while filming for the forthcoming new series of, ‘West Coast Escapes’.

The new series, which will be premiered September 9th 2010 thru-out North America and some European counties, is focused on promoting the Okanagan as a great west coast gateway. Their target audiences are baby boomers looking for that next great escape with the potential for perhaps even settling in that location.

Trepanier Manor was selected for the show because it is presently selling homes to a wider target audience, unlike most other developments, and will offer, when completed, a privately owned and operated Small Luxury Hotel of the World with full service residence club amenities.

Acclaimed producer of the show, John Lovelace, discovers properties, resorts and hidden gems along the west coast from Alaska to British Columbia and felt that Trepanier Manor hotel and luxury real estate had the qualities that the shows audience was looking for.

The Trepanier Manor team partnered with local Peachland business owners who are also working on the project for part of the filming to show a local community working together. The team of local business owners included Gill Barry Excavating, Tony Wright Tree Services, Paradise Sand and Gravel, R&L Trucking, Loopykums Ponds and Bliss Bakery who kindly provided all the freshly baked goods to feed the small army of ‘film stars’, and who like all of the businesses stepped up with just 12 hours notice for the filming.

“It’s great that Scott from Trepanier Manor got so many Peachland business owners involved at such short notice,” said Tony Wright, propiertier of Tony Wright Tree Services. “It was great fun and it really did help portray Peachland as a great place to live and visit.”

The star of the show was Lisa Dudgeon of Cardan Enterprises who are building the luxury homes at Trepanier Manor and who stole the camera for most of the show. Producer John Lovelace grilled Lisa about building in the valley and why people were buying and building here.

The production crew was so impressed with Peachland and the organization of the business owners involved that more shooting was carried out offering Peachland the potential for more coverage in the show….or was it the fact that Scott Wilshaw kept fluffing his lines…..we will have to wait and see.

As well as Peachland being filmed there were other Kelowna locations filmed that will be part of the show as well; you will have to wait and watch the show to find out who else took part!

While filming the show home at Trepanier Manor the crew stood back in amazement when the fridge was opened and facing them was over one hundred bottle of local Tree Brewery beer and Mt. Boucherie wine. “Well what do you expect,” said Scott Wilshaw, President of Trepanier Manor Corp, “I am English after all…..help yourself it is after noon isn’t it?”

The production crew is expected back to Peachland in August for more shooting and then again shortly after but this time they might not be seen as they are flying over to take some aerial footage of our region for the show.

Sotheby’s International Realty Canada who are responsible for the real estate offerings of the development were also on hand and used as film extras. Maria Peters heading up the marketing for the project commented, “The timing of the show and the project is right for Canada, and for the Okanagan in particular.”

Luxury home construction to start soon

One of the largest resort construction projects in the Okanagan Valley is set to begin going vertical in a few short months, Scott Wilshaw, managing partner of Trepanier Manor Corp., said today.

Crews working through the winter have successfully installed water, fire flow, sanitary sewer, gas and electrical lines to service the luxury real estate and hotel throughout the 25-acre Trepanier Manor property. All on-site servicing is now complete, in addition to the installation of several kilometres of sanitary sewer mains off-site.

“The lights are on at Trepanier Manor and the toilets flush also,” said Scott Wilshaw, project managing partner.

Exterior Victorian coach lighting has been installed along the interior roadway and Trepanier Manor’s grand entranceway and waterfall is now nearly complete.

Construction on five of the 20 luxury homes at Trepanier Manor is set to commence this spring, by exclusive home builder Cardan Enterprises.

Cardan recently received a gold medal from the Canadian Home Builder’s Association at the 2009 Tommie Awards for Home Builder of the Year.

“We are expecting the legal registration of the 20 real estate homes or sale and hotel lot to be completed soon,” said Wilshaw. “It has been a slow and steady process, but we are confident it will be done by the end of March. Then construction can begin.” Trepanier has sold 10 of its 20 homes and expects a good year in 2010 based on the appointments already booked to review the project.

Interviews for construction companies to build the Trepanier Manor boutique hotel are ongoing and a construction start date for the hotel is anticipated in early summer.

Cardan Enterprises wins coveted Tommie award

Trepanier Manor congratulates our partner and luxury home builder Cardan Enterprises for winning big at the 2009 Tommie Awards.

Don and Lisa Dudgeon of Cardan Enterprises signed on as the exclusive home builder of Trepanier Manor's 20 single-family, luxury cottage homes. They bring a wealth of experience to the project and we are looking forward to the first five homes being built this year.

The Canadian Home Builder's Association holds the Tommie Awards each year and Cardan was bestowed the gold medal honour of Home Builder of the Year -- the most coveted prize handed out at the Tommies.

Cardan also won a gold medal for Excellence in Single Family Detached, under 2,000 sq. ft.

Lights, water, action!

We have electricity! We have running water! The toilets work!

It may not sound like the biggest news you've heard, but for the Trepanier Manor team, the last week has been really exciting. Crews from Matcon Construction worked through the fall and winter on off-site and on-site servicing and we are very happy to announce they are done.

We now have water, fire flow, sanitary sewer, gas and electrical lines installed throughout the 25-acre Trepanier Manor property. All on-site servicing is complete, in addition to the installation of several kilometres of sanitary sewer mains off-site.

Full electrical power has been turned on and that means the exterior coach lights along the Trepanier Manor interior roadway are now shining bright.

The grand entrance way off MacKinnon Road is nearly complete. We have a working waterfall on one side and a curved entrance sign on the other.

It's a good day for the Trepanier Manor team as we head towards construction of homes and the hotel.

Fall 2009 Update

This is a model of how the new entrance currently under construction will look. On behalf of Trepanier Manor and the team, please accept the following update. For those that stop by or stop me on the street and always ask how the project is going, you make our day brighter and better and keep us motivated, thank you! Our contractors, Matcon, who have been fantastic, have just completed the off-site sewer from Highway 97 to the property entrance and for all the residents from Buchannan, Coldham, Dessert Pines and MacKinnon we thank you for your patience and help. It’s been amazing how many residents have gotten involved and helped us move rock, store rock and keep an eye on things for us; you know who you are and we thank you. The onsite pipe laying is still ongoing, with the sewer, water and gas all in the ground. We only have to dig the road up one more time!!! Tom who heads the crew for Matcon is doing a first rate job, and he surely has his hands full with a very difficult site and our famous Peachland Potatoes, rocks for those who want any! We expect the onsite work to be completed around late November, which will see the paved roads, Victorian lights and new entrance way to the property in operation. This will then lead to six homes being built over the winter by our builder Don and Lisa Dudgeon of Cardan Homes in Kelowna. The Hotel, as always, is our primary aim and the new drawings are looking great, with the last six months seeing a great many changes taking place. The Hotel drawings are on view at the show home and we are planning to commence as soon as the weather allows. With regards to promoting Peachland and our project we are opening our office in Whistler ready for the Winter Olympics so that we can showcase Peachland and the forth coming Hotel. We have also received national and global press from the likes of the New York Times, London Times, and National Post etc. We will continue to keep pressing forward to promote Peachland in this manner over the years. The Hotel is now a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and this distinction places Trepanier and Peachland with the most acclaimed brand and hotel standard in the world. First Okanagan Hotel to Achieve Luxury Brand Status

Okanagan Fires

With the latest forest fires across the Okanagan, Trepanier Manor would like to take the time to thank all the local, provincial, and national fire fighters, RCMP, volunteers and everyone involved in protecting West Kelowna throughout the last few weeks. Dudgeon says the development actually creates a fire break and reduces fire risk compared to leaving dry brush. Apparently sparks can float a kilometre so anything one lands on should be fire-resistant, from roofs to decks to landscaping.

TREPANIER MANOR ANNOUNCES NEW EVENT & ENTERTAINMENT PIER FOR PEACHLAND

Peachland, B.C., July 14th, 2009 — Scott Wilshaw, managing director for Peachland’s Trepanier Manor Hotel and Luxury Homes development, unveiled a proposal today for a Peachland Event and Entertainment Pier located on the Peachland lakefront. Trepanier Manor proposes to partner with the District of Peachland Council to construct this year-round waterfront event & performance centre, enabling Peachland to host local and international performances. Bringing new meaning to “Peachland on the Water,” the centerpiece stage will have boat moorage and the potential for a new Peachland Club and Wine Bar. The $2.9M proposal could have an annual economic impact of $2.5M and is planned to be completed in 2011.

Proposed features of the entertainment pier include:

• An on the water performance centre built to accommodate a symphony orchestra or a theatre production with its “Symphony and Song” Program

• A collaboration is already being discussed with the Okanagan Symphony to ensure the best technical venue and the finest presentation series.

• Moorage for 96 boats with day, overnight, short-term and long-term slips, accompanied by needed facilities for an island charters, a pump-out station and positioning for emergency craft.

• Tiered amphitheatre seating along the shore adjacent to downtown Peachland’s boardwalk, where guests can watch planned plays, productions and musical events

• “Green, clean and Leeds” development and operation, including a commitment to promoting eco technology and electric boating.

• A year-round club house with dining facilities and a wine bar featuring Okanagan products, cooking school and interpretative promenade and/or walk of fame.

• A new annual marquee event for the pier and downtown to reflect Peachland’s identity, vibrancy and vitality.

• B.C.’s first Welcome Centre on the water with an accompanying hospitality deck.
