Fall 2009 Update

This is a model of how the new entrance currently under construction will look. On behalf of Trepanier Manor and the team, please accept the following update. For those that stop by or stop me on the street and always ask how the project is going, you make our day brighter and better and keep us motivated, thank you! Our contractors, Matcon, who have been fantastic, have just completed the off-site sewer from Highway 97 to the property entrance and for all the residents from Buchannan, Coldham, Dessert Pines and MacKinnon we thank you for your patience and help. It’s been amazing how many residents have gotten involved and helped us move rock, store rock and keep an eye on things for us; you know who you are and we thank you. The onsite pipe laying is still ongoing, with the sewer, water and gas all in the ground. We only have to dig the road up one more time!!! Tom who heads the crew for Matcon is doing a first rate job, and he surely has his hands full with a very difficult site and our famous Peachland Potatoes, rocks for those who want any! We expect the onsite work to be completed around late November, which will see the paved roads, Victorian lights and new entrance way to the property in operation. This will then lead to six homes being built over the winter by our builder Don and Lisa Dudgeon of Cardan Homes in Kelowna. The Hotel, as always, is our primary aim and the new drawings are looking great, with the last six months seeing a great many changes taking place. The Hotel drawings are on view at the show home and we are planning to commence as soon as the weather allows. With regards to promoting Peachland and our project we are opening our office in Whistler ready for the Winter Olympics so that we can showcase Peachland and the forth coming Hotel. We have also received national and global press from the likes of the New York Times, London Times, and National Post etc. We will continue to keep pressing forward to promote Peachland in this manner over the years. The Hotel is now a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and this distinction places Trepanier and Peachland with the most acclaimed brand and hotel standard in the world. We will work with Small Luxury Hotels of the World to ensure we continually strive to develop a first rate operation that sets the benchmark in hospitality. First Okanagan Hotel to Achieve Luxury Brand Status

Peachland, B.C., September 2, 2009 —Trepanier Manor, which will be the Okanagan’s only privately owned five-star hotel, has joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World, a collection of over 480 hotels spanning more than 70 countries. For the past three years Small Luxury Hotels of the World was voted number one luxury hotel brand by wealthy consumers in the New York-based Luxury Institute's annual Luxury Brand Status Index survey, outscoring 21 other luxury hotel brands, including Ritz Carlton and Peninsula.

The Trepanier Manor Hotel and 20 detached private homes will be built on 25 acres in Peachland overlooking Lake Okanagan. The 44-suite hotel has been patterned after a gracious, comfortable Victorian European manor house and will be the only private residence club in Western Canada where members enjoy exclusive use of their own home that is not inside a hotel.

Trepanier Manor was conceived by Scott Wilshaw, President of Manor Developments, with the assistance of Egon Von Foidl, President of the Hospitality Resources Group (HRG). Scott Wilshaw has 20 years’ hospitality experience, including hotel development, sales and marketing consulting, and managing the Big White Ski Resort hotels and numerous luxury hotels in Canada and the U.K. Egon von Foidl has significant international experience in the development and management of deluxe hotels, resorts, golf and spa operations including Ritz Carlton hotels in Washington, DC, and New York City, and Sutton Place hotels in Toronto and Vancouver.

Designed by Vancouver architect John Sproule, Trepanier Manor will feature a gate house with a wine interpretive centre and antique shop, tennis court, lawn for bocce, croquet and other garden games, spa, swimming pools, restaurants, cooking classes, wine tastings, games room and library.

Plans for the English cottage-style homes can be customized, and optional features include a detached guest cottage, luxury garage, secret grotto garden, furniture package, outdoor kitchen/lounge, deluxe sound package, and outdoor shower. Just eight homes remain to be sold, with prices from $875,000 to $1.2 million. Construction begins this month.

Okanagan Fires

With the latest forest fires across the Okanagan, Trepanier Manor would like to take the time to thank all the local, provincial, and national fire fighters, RCMP, volunteers and everyone involved in protecting West Kelowna throughout the last few weeks. The crews have done and continue to do an amazing job in containing all four fires in the Kelowna region.

Trepanier Manor’s traditional British architecture would dictate less use of wood than North American styles anyway, but project builder Don Dudgeon, owner of Cardan Enterprises, says they consciously try to follow better building practices, which in the Okanagan means using fire-resistant materials. Dudgeon says the development actually creates a fire break and reduces fire risk compared to leaving dry brush. Apparently sparks can float a kilometre so anything one lands on should be fire-resistant, from roofs to decks to landscaping.

TREPANIER MANOR ANNOUNCES NEW EVENT & ENTERTAINMENT PIER FOR PEACHLAND

Peachland, B.C., July 14th, 2009 — Scott Wilshaw, managing director for Peachland’s Trepanier Manor Hotel and Luxury Homes development, unveiled a proposal today for a Peachland Event and Entertainment Pier located on the Peachland lakefront. Trepanier Manor proposes to partner with the District of Peachland Council to construct this year-round waterfront event & performance centre, enabling Peachland to host local and international performances. Bringing new meaning to “Peachland on the Water,” the centerpiece stage will have boat moorage and the potential for a new Peachland Club and Wine Bar. The $2.9M proposal could have an annual economic impact of $2.5M and is planned to be completed in 2011.

“A key factor for the project is that it reflects variety, vitality and vibrancy that both local residents and visitors to Peachland can all enjoy and be part of. The vision that the team and I are working from is that the project must offer a sound development strategy, have a quality design that will optimize this stunning waterfront location while retaining Peachland’s quaint intimacy and very important for us all is it develops a local signature landmark” said Wilshaw.


Proposed features of the entertainment pier include:

• An on the water performance centre built to accommodate a symphony orchestra or a theatre production with its “Symphony and Song” Program

• A collaboration is already being discussed with the Okanagan Symphony to ensure the best technical venue and the finest presentation series.

• Moorage for 96 boats with day, overnight, short-term and long-term slips, accompanied by needed facilities for an island charters, a pump-out station and positioning for emergency craft.

• Tiered amphitheatre seating along the shore adjacent to downtown Peachland’s boardwalk, where guests can watch planned plays, productions and musical events

• “Green, clean and Leeds” development and operation, including a commitment to promoting eco technology and electric boating.

• A year-round club house with dining facilities and a wine bar featuring Okanagan products, cooking school and interpretative promenade and/or walk of fame.

• A new annual marquee event for the pier and downtown to reflect Peachland’s identity, vibrancy and vitality.

• B.C.’s first Welcome Centre on the water with an accompanying hospitality deck.

When asked to comment about the Symphony and Song Program planned Caroline Miller, General Manager of the Okanagan Symphony commented “Great music, long, warm summer afternoons and evenings, and professional-level classical and pops concerts: what could be better for residents and visitors?”

The project captures the recommendations of the Community Official Plan and the visioning proposals from concepts initiated in the last 10 years. Trepanier Manor will build the pier as it evolves from community interaction in concert with approvals from the district and provincial-federal land/ water management regulations. Citizens, boaters and business will also have an opportunity to work with an advisory team to fine tune the proposal to best serve historic Peachland.
